GSG25 - Keeping the Geeky Flame Alive

All geeks have been told at one time or another to "grow up" and leave their geeky pursuits behind. To those, hopefully we say "POPPYCOCK!" or something else that brings the right message and doesn't get us beat up. This episode we discuss...

Everyone's geeky about something, be it Imperial Star Destoyers, the 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers, the difference between the Nebula and Galaxy class Federation cruisers, and Mary I.

We get a kind word from Doug at GeekAcres.

Also, we discuss learning restraint when evangelizing your flavor of geek, as well as the appropriate place for persistance. And Gundam Wing. And AI Lego Tanks.

Check your local hobby shops for cases and storage solutions for geeky things that may be running into all available space. And that's it.

Enjoy!

GSG23 - Real World Survival

Not as much comedy this week, as we're talking about real world survival. With the US economy going through some tough times, it's all right to take one episode to talk about some real-world survival tips. Here they are.

#1 - Some extra food is a good idea.
#2 - Save some water. Here's the FEMA site on that.
#3 - Fuel. Propane, charcoal, or the Sun. Here's a link to plans for building your own solar cooker.
#4 - Some emergency cash. Here's three books.
Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman
and The Five Lessons a Millionaire Taught Me by Richard Paul Evans.
#5 - Get to know your neighbors. Elven Wizards in Proudmoore are found in World of Warcraft.
#6 - Have something non-electronic to do. Books are good. Boardgames are good. RPGs are good, and in particular, we at GSG advocate GURPS.

And that's it. Back to regular comedy podcasting next time.
Enjoy!
